To further illustrate the above method used when measuring a 5-hole bolt pattern, we made another image below which uses gif animation to describe it step by step.

Please feel free to ask if it's still unclear though and remember that this method works for just about any number of bolt holes. If the offset ET-measurement is wrong it may result in the wheel touching the brake caliper, control arm or inner or outer fender, depending on if the offset is too much or too less compared to the original.

If the wheel offset isn't as much as the original and in the same time makes the wheel stand out from the outer fender, without the fenders rubbing the tire of course, it will either way make gravel, stones and dirt splash against the side of the car and maybe hit other vehicles on the road and also pedestrians etc.!!

Some ET-measurements are only written with letters, like for example L, M or H, these stands for Low, Medium and High and the measurements oftens referes to 0 being Low , 20 mm for Medium and around 40 mm for High , all of them are by the way positive measurements always check the exact measurements though, we cannot guarantee that L, M and H means 0, 20 and 40 in all cases. Please feel free to ask if it's still unclear though, either through our Facebook-page or contact email.

This is very important to think about as you may need wheel spacers, leveling kit, rolling the fenders to be larger, etc. Some bolt patterns, mostly cars or wheels from the USA, may have the bolt pattern written in inches instead of metric millimeters. We have also made a simple lug pattern conversion chart from metric to inches SAE. With the table below you can easily look up what a metric bolt pattern is in inches and vice versa! Quick facts: The measurement in inches isn't actually used today but may get mentioned at some wheel stores online, classified ads, Internet forums, etc.

The measurement comes from the SAE Society of Automotive Engineers, founded in the early day of and is the older standard not used by them today regarding new vehicles. For your and others safety, only use the measurement that's specified for your car and nothing else. But that also comes with a downside meaning they aren't as durable, but that isn't normally noticeable for the regular driver. At Bolt-pattern. Random tip nr 1! It's up to you to verify before possibly buying wheels the dimensions by e. You kan also double check with another source, for example searching on the Internet and see if several other sources say the same as us although this is not a guarentee for fitment either! Below you will find some more information about the measurements in the chart, etc. Notice that some car models in the table doesn't have any closing regarding the model year and that it may have been released newer generations of the car model that in turn have different dimensions for the bolt pattern etc.

There may also be model years that overlap each other if a car model updates to a new generation and that the dimensions are different between these generations. A lot must match in order for the wheels to fit the car! When only one measurement is displayed it refers mainly to the front axle. Of course, the chart tries to be kept as correct as possible though but unfortunately we cannot guarentee that the dimensions are correct.

Please do notify us via email at the bottom of the page if you find any errors so we can adjust this immediately.
